The story of Indonesia’s first woman champion surfer from nias island

This is the true story of Bonne ‘Yasniar’ Gea. A girl from Nias island who grew up in a humble Muslim family, in the fishing village in Lagundi Bay, and went on to become the first woman champion surfer of indonesia, five times, and three times Asian champion.

We return with Bonne to her home village and learn about how she blazed a trail to become a champion. A legacy of fifty years of surfing in Lagundi Bay.

Winner of Best British Short Film at the London Surf Film Festival this short film was followed up by the hybrid documentary feature film POINT OF CHANGE.
